The Revitalization Process and Development of the Botanical Gardens in Indonesia at Cibodas Botanical Garden, 30th of September 2014
The development of the Botanical Garden in Indonesia continue to get support from various parties. After through a process which long enough, the Ministry of Public Works and Head of LIPI, and supported by foundation of the botanical garden, Indonesia which is headed by Megawati Soekarno Putri in “launching the revitalization and development of the botanical gardens in Indonesia” and publishes the roadmap for the development of the botanical gardens non urban, in 2015-2019, which takes place in Cibodas’s botanical garden, 30th of September 2014.
The event was attended by regional head and all managers of the botanical gardens in Indonesia. Sriwijaya’s botanical garden represented by Chairman of Research Development and Innovation Board of South Sumatera, Head of the main resourch, and Head of financial.
On the occasion of launching the roadmap, Director general of Spatial planning and Minister of Public Works Republic of Indonesia stated that the existence of the botanical gardens in Indonesiaq has a role in improving the quality of the green space in Indonesia, Head of LIPI also stated that all of the botanical gardens in Indonesia has a role in conducting specific plant conservation.With the revitalization process and development of the botanical garden expected more directed, systematic, and quickly so itcan serve their functions and support the economic development areas.
Head of foundation the botanical gardens Indonesia, Megawati Soekarno Putri stated that the botanical garden which will be built should be prepared. Same with the botanical gardens in another country with specific plants of each region. There are four things that always there in the botanical garden of another country which is also have to get attention of the botanical garden areas, namely the existence of a restaurant, meeting/discussion room, classroom, and the existence of a volunteer who assists the botanical gardens.
